Some things I am looking forward too...

Today I got to take a 4 hour nap which was truly glorious. I love that feeling you get when someone wakes you up from that nap and they talk to you as if you are fully aware of every syllable and word that comes out of their mouth. And really just saying what alot. (none of this is part of what i will talk about tonight, but I enjoy letting you guys into what some of my life looks like)

Ok on to tonights topic....
Tonight i would like to talk about how much I am looking forward to winter you know the beautiful delicate snow, that covers the earth like a big fluffy white blanket? I cant wait for that to come to Austin.....
Thank you Alex Bennitt
Just kidding that only happens in beautiful places....this is the snow we actually get in Austin. But in all seriousness these are the things I am looking forward too most about the winter.

Outline of things I am looking forward to throughout the Winter months
  1. Just the feel of the winter
  2. Sweater, Jacket, and Coat season
  3. The Holiday menu at Starbucks
  4. The break from school
  5. Elf
  6. and last but not least Christmas!!
First of all with the season of Winter there is a sort of ambience that comes along with it. It is almost impossible to explain, but there is a definite change in people and kind of the everyday vibe. People are kinder around the holidays, and that is just kind of a well known fact. I just like the feel of seeing lights on people's houses, and the decorations. (it is not like halloween where if you do put decorations up they are lame and strange) They kind of just make you feel good inside. That is number one in my 6 part list.

The second reason is one of my favorites personally. Sweater/ Jacket/ Coat season. I love being able to put on a sweatshirt and pea coat know that I will not burn to death when I step outside. It is fun not having to wear shorts and a short sleeve shirt all the time. I personally enjoy being kind of cold, and having the reassurance that a nice jacket is there for you (it sounds weird but it's my life...) There is just so many more options when it is Winter and thus concludes my 2nd point in my 6 part series.

The third is also ever so enchanting! The Winter Menu at Starbucks!!!  Boy do I enjoy a good warm gingerbread mocha in the morning, it is a fact that not only does it warm you physically but also spiritually...(not sure bout that) Just the sight of this cup alone makes me feel happy.  The warmth of it in your hand instantly warms up your soul. There you have it Starbucks...number 3 on the list of 6 awesome winter stuff.

Everyone enjoys a good two and a half week break from school. ( this is where the laziness kicks in and I do a terrible job with the last two) Alright  school is one of those things that you count down the days until you can get out of it for a prolonged time, and once it gets there and is done you count down the days until the next big break comes. There isnt much to say on this and i apologize....

Elf....the one movie that makes Christmas just that much better! Will Farrell meets Zooey Deschanel meets Santa meets Christmas!!

The last and one of my favorites is you know the whole Christmas thing...I guess it's kind of a big deal... Just Kidding Christmas is a huge deal!! The reason we do anything important in December is because of Christmas. We get to celebrate the birth of a savior by giving and getting gifts...kind of a good deal right? But we get two weeks out of school and get to have fun get to gethers and do fun things like white elephant gift exchanges. Along with many assorted TV Christmas specials. It just makes Christmas ever so splendid.

The combination of Jesus, Starbucks holiday menu, Sweater/Jacket/ Coat weather, Elf, the break from school, and the general feel of the season makes it ever so splendid.

    Meaningful

Hello to the 4 or 5 of you that read my blog! Thanks a bunch for taking some time out of your day to listen to little old me talk about random things like slip-n-slides and other things! It is cool that you read/ look at my blog!

    Meaning.....
This is something that I am struggling with right now... what am I doing with my life right now that gives it some kind of meaning? This question is burrowed in the back of my mind and it will not leave, so I decided to just spit up some of my thoughts on this plague that has taken over my mind. So here we go, buckle up gang.

I have recently been stuck in the mind set that almost everything in my life is monotinous....except for wednesdays and sundays when I feel like I actually do something with my life. I hate having to sit in classes all day and not learn anything constructive, then go home and sit, do homework, eat, and then got sleep.... School is hard, boring, and takes up my life. I sit in classes wondering how my life would turn out if I just left school and just traveled across the country. But then reality strikes as I am called on or finally come out of the day dream. People in their junior year of high school have things figured out for their lives, (or so it seems) they check their "class rank"(I despise this more than anything else...You are now just a number to colleges now) daily, so they can go to the perfect college and live a perfect life with the perfect job and perfect kids. I still don't know how I am going to make it through high school let alone college! It is all just so confusing and pointless because we could all die tomorrow (not likely though) and would you be happy with those straight A's? or would you be happy with all of the people you knew and got to build relationships with? If I were to die tomorrow i would not be content with my mediocre life of the same thing day after day.....( What is a guy to do? ) I have gotten to the point where i would rather travel across America on a bike than be stuck in this rut of monotony for one more day.....I don't see the benefit of trying your whole life to make everything perfect and hate life than to just know that you are doing something worth living for... In a book I am reading it talks about " Living good stories" with our lives... And I can say I am living a terribly boring story that I am not proud of.....Anyways that is what I am feeling tonight as I cannot sleep.....

    Much Love,
    Tim

    Fun Fun Fun

Look at how much fun he is having!!
While I was about to fall asleep this evening I think God spoke to me and told me to post about Slip-N-Slides!....All joking aside slip-n-slides are a serious matter as you can see in this video they can kind of be intense!

So much can be said about slip-n-slides, like how they are fun for even the larger members of your family

but anyways my dream is to one day have a lot of people over and have a slip-n-slide party on the golf course...sure this is technically "illegal" but come on its a slip-n-slide!!!

I end with this (not so much fun slip and slide)

    My Favorite show ever!

Yes this show you probably have never heard of is in my humble opinion...The Greatest Show Ever!! Haven't heard of it? Don't Fear you can always watch some of the seasons on Instant Play, or on this sight, http://www.free-tv-video-online.info/internet/top_gear/, ( Start on Season 4 that is when it starts to be amazing) So here are some things you should know, Top Gear is a British TV show about cars...not into cars never fear this show is so much more than a car program it has fun challenges and other things that will make you laugh until you cry (trust me) Ok so this show is amazing from the beginning theme song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYBfEdEoAUY to the funny sign offs. The show usually consists of road tests of a car followed by the Stig (look below), then News, and a celebrity Drives a reasonably priced car, and usually some kind of challenge that the 3 presenters do. Here are the main hosts on the show:

Jeremy Clarkson: The shows main character/ Presenter the funniest part of this show I believe.

Richard Hammond: The "short" one also a very hilarious and quick witted  co host of this program.

James May: Nick named by Jeremy Clarkson as "Captain Slow", is almost the voice of reason between these three presenters.

The Stig: The "Tamed Racing Driver" that is truly a mythical creature that is introduced by Jeremy and always start with the phrase, "some say" and continue with things like, "• Some say that his heart ticks like a watch, and that he’s confused by stairs..", and ,"Some say that his politics are terrifying, and that he once punched a horse to the ground..." and other random things you. Most of these have to do with popular events in Brittain, but most I can understand. You begin to fall in love with the mysteriousness of Lord Stig, whose identity has never been found out and always wears his racing outfit, you do know that he does have cousins in different countries.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfRMYfvF9Xc

So there you have it.. watch this show and change your life forever!

Thoughts at 3:00 in the AM

    Pretty sure I have insomnia!.....Anyways...

While reading Luke tonight the Idea of Denying yourself came up, so I decided to blog about it like I did a while back...Because if anything it helps me get my thoughts written down so I can see them and remember what I read....anyways

Luke 9:23-24 says, " 23And He said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.24For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it ."

I think I have always believed that this verse means that we just have to live for God and endure hardships, but tonight it meant so much more....Tonight it struck me that this also means that we have to abstain from the sin that keeps us far from God, and take our convictions with us every day, and everywhere we go...(if that makes any sense)...This means that none of our Earthly desires should come in the way of God...(easy to say,not so easy to do!!)
Side note:  (This is where I personally fall short....sure I can post verses and posts on what verses I read and what I think about them, but when it comes down to the rubber meeting the road...[hope I am using this analogy correctly]...I fall short...why is this?) I think this is where a whole bunch of Christians end up as well...
Anyways how can we apply this in our everyday lives? That is what I have been pondering myself...I think we can understand that as Christians, and as people, we will have to endure hardships, but as followers of Christ we will never face them alone, we have support! Also we need to bring our convictions with us wherever we may go...School? Work? with friends?...Grocery Store?...Wherever! If you can take anything from this I guess it is that we will have to endure hardships, and give the worldly things we still hold on to to God....And not hold onto our old lives or baggage (Like the Chair video...we want God to rule our lives except for certain gray areas of it that you still hold onto...You have to make decision!)...but always remember God loves you!!  "26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?"

    Thanks Planet Earth!

    Roots...

Buy one, and change the world
Sitting on my couch with my LHC "So Fresh & So Clean" tank top on.

I guess this post is for the three people who read my blog that are not from Lake Hills....

Inspired by my youth pastor's talk tonight...why not make a blog about your roots....I know I know...Tim roots, what does that have to do with anything? Glad you asked...(no one really asked me), Tonight we discussed How as christians our "roots" are a metaphor for how strong our faith in God is.

    GOOD!

Lets start off with Big roots...(you were all begging me to those ones first) and how they are the best base for all plants to grow. So say you are a plant...(I know what you are thinking...tim that is crazy i cant even think about something like that...bare with me) If a huge hurricane comes through your "forest"(your life) wouldn't you want the biggest roots in the world so that you didn't get knocked over? (your answer should be yes) In summary shouldn't our walk be the same?....in the words of Demetri Martin, "Think about it".

    BAD!
And now of course we have the opposite of those big roots, which are.....if you guessed small roots you are CORRECT! (spicing up this post) Anyways when life throws you challenges are you just going to be discouraged and never pick yourself back up? (sorry no longer a metaphor...kind of) Why not prepare yourself for that rainy day when you feel like you cant handle it anymore? again...."Think about it".
